I was born 1944 in Dresden, Germany, shortly before the end of WW II. Luckily my parents decided to migrate to the West, where finally we landed in Bonn, the former capital of the Federal Republic of Germany.
Since I had always been interested in arts, I was dreaming to be either a musician, a painter or a writer. But my father was strict, saying “You better take up a proper job!”
So finally I joined the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs for more than 40 years, most of these years in foreign countries. Whenever I had some spare time I followed my orginal aspirations: painting and writing. During my career, the Philippines turned out to be my favorite place. Now I am living here, surrounded by water and forests. This beautiful environment and nice people as well give me the right inspiration I need for my work.
